Polar bar

Abstract

The interactive bar counter as an animated polar sea. All objects, who are laying on the interactive bar counter frosts on the bottom, so that visually an ice floe is growing under them.  The objects are standing and swimming on this ice flow´s in the polar sea of the interactive bar counter water surface. 

Der interaktive Bar Tresen, als animiertes Polar Meer, auf dem die Gläser und alle auf dem Tresen abgelegten Gegenstände, auf Eisschollen fest frieren. Somit auf Eisschollen zu schwimmen beginnen.

Concept

Because of the issue that a bar is a place of communication and consume of cold liquid drinks, it was obvious to take water and ice in the main conception of the interactive bar counter surface.
Therefore I decided to design a interactive bar counter surface who shows a top view of the polar sea. The water waves are generated according to the sound level in the room of the bar. Therefore the water surface reflects the activity in the bar room.
When objects like glasses, ash tree, mobile phones, packages, bags or just the hand is laying on the water surface of the interactive bar counter surface, the water frosts visually on the bottom of these things. A little ice floe is now growing under this objects, and flowing according to the speed of waves.  The size of the ice floe reflects the dwell duration of the object on his place, therefore the dwell duration of the customer.
When one object is lifted, the ice floe is freely moving on the polar sea, so it can be easily captured and used for interactions in between the customers of the interactive bar. But they should not play to long then slowly the ice is melting and the ice floe despairs according to there size sometimes slower, sometimes quicker.
